Sunday, August 07, 2011 It's been a while. Pretty busy the past week. Going out a lot. Time is quickly dwindling away, leaving me with little more than a week before the drudgery which is National Service begins.
Went to Ikea today, then home, followed by a wake. I was thinking once again about how the Chinese take it upon themselves to turn every occassion into an opportunity for a party. It's kinda cool actually. Western funerals are usually quite sad and sometimes morbid, in a cemetery and whatnot. But here we are, at a void deck, able to tell jokes and enjoy one another's company, while still paying respects to whoever has passed on. I like that. That's the kinda funeral I want to have: my family and friends gathered and just having a good time. A lot of bugs recently. As in, a lot things bugging me. Old wounds patched up during Awaken returning to haunt me. New wounds not making things any better. Before I leave for tekong, I'm gonna write a letter to the two xmms. I'd rather leave knowing I'd done something rather than stay wondering what more I could have done. Have you ever asked yourself...? No, I suppose not... |
